THRU Project

Volunteer

Show up. Stay consistent. Change a life, including your own.

Volunteering with THRU Project isn’t about having all the answers.
It’s about being present, listening, and staying connected.

Mentors are a steady part of a young adult’s life during a time when consistency matters most. If you’re willing to show up with honesty, patience, and care, you’re already qualified.

Learn About Mentoring

What mentoring really looks like.

Mentoring at THRU Project is about relationship, not rescue.

Mentors:
• Build trust over time
• Listen more than they talk
• Support goal setting and problem-solving
• Offer encouragement through life’s ups and downs
• Stay consistent, even when things get messy

You’re not expected to fix anything.
You’re expected to show up.

Mentorship Application

Ready to take the next step?

Applying to be a mentor is simple and thoughtful. We want to make sure mentoring is a good fit for you and for the young adult you’ll support.

The application helps us learn about:
• Your interests and availability
• Your experience and strengths
• What kind of support are you hoping to offer

You don’t need a perfect background, just a genuine commitment.

Mentor Manual

You’re not doing this alone.

The Mentor Manual is your go-to guide for navigating mentorship at THRU Project. It covers expectations, boundaries, communication tips, and what support is available to you along the way.

Mentorship is a learning process, and we’re here to support you, too.

There’s no such thing as a perfect mentor, just committed ones.

Stay Connected

Support doesn’t stop after training.

Community matters, for mentors too. These spaces are designed to help you stay connected, supported, and confident in your role.

Facebook Group

Connect with other mentors, share experiences, ask questions, and learn from one another in a supportive online space.

Mentor Support Group

Mentor Support Groups provide space to reflect, learn, and connect with others who understand the journey.

These groups offer:

You don’t have to figure everything out on your own.
